Walton and District Allotment and Garden Society

Welcome to the website for the Walton and District Allotment and Garden Society. The Society is run for the benefit of its members providing expert  horticultural advice together with our own shop supplying all gardening needs. We also organise the letting of allotments, outings, and an annual show.

Trading Hut

This is our Headquarters where we  stock an excellent range of composts, fertilisers and garden sundries. A local nursery grows vegetable plants especially for us to sell. We are open for members on Thursday from 10.00am until 11.30am and on Saturday from 9.30am until Noon. See Trading Hut page.

The first three outings for 2017 have now been finalised and booking forms will be sent to members in our February mail-shot. The first is in May to Myddleton House Gardens and Capel Manor College. This is followed in June by visits to Houghton Lodge and Longstock Gardens. Finally in July it will be Sandham Memorial Chapel and Highclere (Downton Abbey). Full details appear on our Outings page

Annual Show and Events

Our Late Summer Show this year will be held on 12th August in All Saints Catholic Church Hall in Queens Road Hersham and is open to all comers. In 2015 we introduced a new annual event “A Taste of Autumn” which will take place on Saturday 7th October 2017 in the Trading Hut.

See our Events page for full details

The Society’s own site, Elm Grove Allotments, is excellently situated in the centre of Walton.  See our Allotments page.  The other local sites are Rydens Road, Home Farm, Burhill and Terrace Road  managed by Walton Charity.

We have apiaries on three allotment sites and have Elm Grove and Rydens honey on sale at the Trading Hut. For more information please visit our Beekeeping page
