Welcome to the website for the Walton and District Allotment and Garden Society.
The Society is run for the benefit of its members providing expert horticultural
advice together with our own shop supplying all gardening needs. We also organise
the letting of allotments, outings, and an annual show.
This is our Headquarters where we stock an excellent range of composts, fertilisers
and garden sundries.
We are open for members on Thursday from 10.00am until 11.30am and on Saturday from
9.30am until Noon. See Trading Hut page.
The outings for 2018 are currently being finalised and booking forms will be sent
to members in our February mail-shot. The 2017 outings were highly successful with
visits to Myddleton House Gardens and Capel Manor College, Houghton Lodge and Longstock
Gardens, Sandham Memorial Chapel and Highclere (Downton Abbey), Parham House and
finally to Standen House and Sheffield Park.
Our Late Summer Show will be held on 18th August 2018 in All Saints Catholic Church
Hall in Queens Road Hersham and is open to all comers. During the year we run 3 other
events, “A Taste of Spring” and “A Taste of Autumn”, both at the Trading Hut. We
wrap up the year in December with an event at Woodlark Nurseries in Hersham to see
the magnificent display of Poinsettias grown for Christmas. See our Events page for
The Society’s own site, Elm Grove Allotments, is excellently situated in the centre
of Walton. See our Allotments page. The other local sites are Rydens Road, Home
Farm, Burhill and Terrace Road managed by Walton Charity.
We have apiaries on three allotment sites and have Elm Grove and Rydens honey on
sale at the Trading Hut. For more information please visit our Beekeeping page
